Privacy

The Good Unknown is a personal project by Darcy Grey. This page explains what happens to what you send through this site.

What is collected

If you join the mailing list: your email address, the date you joined and the wording you agreed to. If you use the guest or contact form: your name, your email address, your message and any links you add.

To stop spam, each submission also stores a one-way scrambled version of your IP address and your browser's description of itself. The real IP address is not kept.

What it's used for

The mailing list is used only to send you news about The Good Unknown, such as new episodes. Messages are read by Darcy and used to reply to you. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone for their own use.

Where it's kept

On the private server that runs this site. Mailing list addresses may be moved into an email tool to send the post. The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies and loads its fonts from this site rather than from a third party.

How long

Until you ask for it to be removed, or until the project ends.

Your choices

You can leave the list, see what's held about you, or ask for it to be deleted at any time. Write to darcy [at] seeky [dot] co [dot] uk. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
